Meet the Staff

Deb grew up in Humboldt Nebraska. She has been an optician for 30 years and has been with Heartland Optical since 2006. At Heartland Optical she has many responsibilities including working with patients to help them pick out their frames and recommend lens options. She also handles various aspects of insurance billing, appointment scheduling, and working with contact lenses. Her experience in the optical industry makes her capable of seeing that every patient has the best experience and she enjoys seeing the transformation a new pair of glasses can have for our patients.

Deb grew up in Lincoln. She has worked in the optical industry for 8 years and has been with Heartland Optical since 2007. Her main responsibility is to ensure that everything is ready for our patient’s appointments. She handles most phone calls, verifies insurance, and schedules appointments. She also works closely with Dr. Hausmann in providing patients with contact lenses.

Dawn grew up in Bancroft. She has been an optician for 30 years and has been with Heartland Optical since 2010. Dawn is a great addition to the staff at Heartland Optical as her experience in working with patients really shines. She works closely with Dr. Hausmann as the main technician in providing a comprehensive eye exam. She also works with patients in picking out glasses and adjusting them at pickup. Dawn is also Heartland’s main contact lens trainer.

Dawn Schellhorn
